Rapists are said to be taking advantage of
the prevailing power crisis (dumsor) in the
country to terrorise teachers and students
of the Esiama Community Nursing Training
College in the Ellembelle District of the
Western Region.
A report by the Weekend Finder said some
students had become victims of rape and
robbery attacks by the intruders.
The school’s generator, according to the
report, is not being put to use due to the lack
of fuel, compounding the woes of the students.
The students now move around in groups out
of fear of being attacked.
“There is no light on our toilet so you can’t
visit the place alone at night; you either have
to go in groups,” a student was quoted as
saying.

Unemployed nurses petition President Mahama

The aggrieved unemployed nurses on Wednesday, April 27, embarked on another demonstration to register their misgivings over delays in their postings. The nurses and midwives at the Kwame Nkrumah circle in Accra The graduate nurses and midwives took to the street because the Health Ministry has failed to get them posted. The nurses and midwives have been home for the past 10 months Clad in their uniforms and red bands, the nurses converged on the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra; where they carried placards with inscriptions like – “A hungry nurse is a potential killer, We are tired of staying home, We need our financial clearance now; no more delays, Evidence based nurses and midwives demonstration”. Government committed to making Ghana safe - Ambrose Dery

Minister of the Interior, Ambrose Dery, has assured Ghanaians that government is committed to making the country safe for the citizens.
