Ghana Schools Observes GNAPs Week.

The annual Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPs) week celebration is here once again across the length and breadth of the country.
The occasion which involves all privately owned schools coming together to share in the common believe that governance is not all about the government of the day, But also a token of contributions from all concern citizens, On Friday February 23 raises an eyebrows following the colourful celebration from among private schools especially the populous ones in the country.
Proprietors, Headteachers and other teaching and non teaching staff, as well as pupils and students,  marked the occasion with an initial lunching ceremony at the various regional capitals across the country.
This was followed by a clean up exercise in various communities by way of draining gutters and sweeping. Match passes which was liken by the  many people as a form of staged event following chanting songs from pupils along with printed placards also triggered the interest of many pedestrians and event passing vehicles. Quiz competitions and football games were of no exceptions.
In an interview with Mr. Godwin Doku the H.O.D. of  English, Shine International School on Friday on flyghana.com, has this simple message to the government: 'we are private members but we still believe in quality and affordable education. We form part of Ghana's education system. Is time the government turns to us. we're all Ghanaians'
He also advice parents to take good care of their wards as far as their education is concern, and to coordinate with teachers particularly of private schools for the smooth discharge of duties. Meanwhile some teachers also took the opportunity to express concerns over salaries calling for an increment. For the students, its a colourful day .
