Mahama has already lost – Nana Ansah Asiedu, Gyasehene of Abotoase

Image
The Gyaasehene of Abotoase, Nana Ansah Asiedu, has appealed to the 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to resume the payment of compensations due them as a result of the construction of the Volta Lake, which continues to claim their lands. His request to Nana Akufo-Addo is borne out of the fact that, “President Mahama is already gone. He has lost the elections.” Nana Ansah Asiedu made this known when the NPP flagbearer paid a courtesy call on him at his palace in Abotoase, in the Biakoye constituency, on Monday, October 24, 2016. The Abotoase Chief explained that under the resettlement package, which was instituted by a Legal Instrument passed by Parliament, “compensation payments commenced under President Kufuor. The late President Mills continued with these payments. However, upon assuming office, President Mahama has decided to stop paying compensation to us.” Funds from the resettlement package, according to Nana Ansah Asiedu, w

PPP, EC face off in court Tuesday

Lawyers for the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) head to the High Court today to push for an order to stop the Electoral Commission (EC) from disqualifying the party from the December polls. Lawyers from both sides are expected to present their oral submissions Tuesday, October 25, after which a date will be set for judgment. PPP’s legal team, led by former Deputy Attorney General, Ayikoi Otoo, will be making a strong case for the EC to be restrained from proceeding with balloting for the position of presidential candidates for the 7th December elections. They will also be praying the court to compel the EC to grant the PPP 2016 presidential candidate, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, the opportunity to amend and alter the anomalies on his nomination papers. The PPP hauled the Electoral Commission to the High Court on October 14, 2016, claiming that the elections management body did not only breach the rules of natural justice in its disqualification of Dr. Nduom but also failed to act in acc

Ghanaians wants to see change and better.......JJ Rawlings

Image
Former President Rawlings appears to share the frustration of Ghanaians under the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration. “They want to see a change for the better”, he told ‘The Guardian’ newspaper in Nigerian in his recent interview. That was when the issue of how to strengthen institutions came up for discussion. For him, “a lot depends on the leader, his sensitivity, his will, his strength and determination, because the vast majority of the people are suffering from the decay” considering the fact that people want to see change. “I think that the number one should be bold enough and identify the right people to take over and move to those institutions in an effective and efficient way. Put your foot down, because those institutions are manned by human beings; and if those human beings lack the character, the strength and the spirit to be able to defy that which is wrong, then we cannot defend freedom and justice”, he emphasized. That, he said was because

— Broad Narrative: 1. An internal NDC intelligence memo, prepared with the help of BNI and National Security by Baba Kamara, National Security Advisor to John Mahama, has concluded that the NDC will not win the elections at the polls. In his Memo, Baba Kamara states: “It is now becoming obvious and increasing[ly] clear that our opponents are fired up and momentum is on their side” 2. It also concludes, and confirms what former Transport Minister, Dzifa Attivor said, that John Mahama’s cabal of close friends and family members who constitute the looting brigade are scared of going to jail for the billions of dollars they have stolen and stashed away. The Memo states: “unless we act quickly and remind ourselves of the implications of an electoral defeat this year, we might find ourselves in a deep hole. I cannot sum it better that what DZIFA ATTIVOR suggested when she indicated on a political platform, in the early part of the year, that a win for our opponents would mean a majority

See the 8-year-old girl that was made army chief in Uganda

The future belongs to the children of this generation. The earlier that fact is known and accepted, the better it will be for us when it comes to grooming and preparing them for the future. They are the ones who will take the reins from us when we no longer have the strength to jump and move around. Investing in their future is a way of ensuring our grey days are taken care of, for our toil and pains will amount to no gain if they lay to ruin all we have ever worked for. Angel Tyra Muwanguzi is an 8-year-old girl who was given a chance to look into the future when she was made the army chief in Uganda. Young Muwanguzi replaced General Katumba Wamal, Uganda's chief of defense forces. She ruled as the chief for 10 minutes. This is an interesting thing because the pupil of Train Up a Child primary school in Bugolobi was able to have an idea of what being in power feels like. The scheme was put in place in order to encourage children and show women that everything is possible. They

Some 501 sacked Army recruits have threatened to join terrorist groups like ISIS or Boko Haram after what they say is unfair treatment after they were unceremoniously dumped out of boot camp. According to the recruits, even though some of their colleagues were found wanting by the instructors, they had never claimed the training was too difficult as claimed by the leadership of the training school, the basis for which they were sent home. Convener of the recruits Frank Antwi, in an interview with Adom News said though they could not complete their training, the training they had before the unfortunate dismissal from the training school is enough to qualify them to be recruited into ISIS or Boko Haram unless they are recalled into the training school. They believe they qualified but have been dismissed wrongly as a result of other considerations instead of their inability to complete the required training.
