Bawumia installed as chief in the Central Region

Dr, Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was enstooled as the Nkosuohene of the Adankwaman Traditional Area.
Dr. Bawumia, who was in the area for his week-long campaign tour, was installed as the "Nkosuohene" after the chiefs on Assin Damang in the Central Region agreed they couldn't let him leave the area without leaving a mark.
The "Nkosuohene", to wit "Chief of Development", sees to the developmental progress of the community. Dr. Bawumia is thus expected to coordinate efforts and lead all development in the area.
According to Nana Kwabena Waadie II, who is the Kyedomhen of Adankwaman, he was sure that the vice-presidential aspirant would help develop the area. The chief also expressed confidence in NPP winning the 2016 General Elections.

Chief of Assin Damang Nana Afansi Asiampa II, who doubles as Omanhen of Adankwaman Traditional Area, lauded efforts of the John Agyekum Kufuor-led government in bringing glory to his community by appointing an illustrious son, Prof Dominic Fobih, as minister. He admitted that gesture at least put Daman – theretofore not known – on the country’s map.
Dr Bawumia, in his acceptance speech, expressed his gratitude to the people of Adankwaman, promising to respond to their issues always. He said he will make sure development reaches the people if his party wins the upcoming elections.
