3 men sentenced to death for attempting to steal pineapples

Three men were handed death sentence for stealing 30 pineapples from a farm, even though they never got away with the fruits. Julius Mugambi, Edward Mburu and Francis Maina lost their case after the Court of Appeal in Kenya found they were positively identified as part of a gang of seven intruders.  They are now on death row even though they never got away with the fruits worth Sh1,500.  They were forced to abandon the loot when they were chased by a guard dog at a Thika-based Delmonte farm.  Evidence by the dog handler was crucial in securing the conviction, judges said. No one was hurt in the robbery except a dog, which bore a deep cut from a machete. The three were charged with threatening security guards using machetes before stealing the pineapples. They were also charged with unlawfully injuring an animal. They were first arraigned in the magistrate’s court in Thika on November 1, 2008, where they were tried and sentenced to death.  They filed an appeal at the High Court,

Man's penis cut off over alleged amorous relationship with married woman

A man suspected of having a sexual relationship with a married woman has had his penis and scrotum cut off by some unknown assailants in a case the Police at Amasaman are treating as attempted murder. The man, whose name has been given only as Awotse, was allegedly in an amorous relationship with the unnamed married woman. Sources told TV3 that the husband of the woman allegedly contracted the four assailants who on Thursday afternoon carried out the dastardly act. Awotse was in his room at Nsakina in Amasaman at about 1:30pm when the assailants stormed there, sealed his mouth to prevent him from screaming and his penis, together with his testicles, slashed off. Before escaping, the assailants were said to have told the victim that they were contracted by the woman’s husband to cut off his penis to stop Awotse from sleeping with his wife. Screams from Awotse later attracted residents who rushed to Awotse’s room to find him in a pool of blood. His testicles and penis were found a

Your Science (the mystery behind Your Difference)

The Herald🔊 Knowing one's self in other words self-identity, has been a major topic in the social sciences and even in religious presentations. Man know thyself is a biblical text which instructs every individual to endeavor to unravel his or her real self or identity. This topic represents a whole concept of ideals and spheres of an individual's existence so far as relation with variety of people in social cycles are concerned. Even though one's physical appearance constitutes his overall nature, it does not have much telling on his or her dispositions, aptitudes or personality. As such, it is a peripheral determinant of his genetic constitution and to a larger extent the stature of his divine purpose. The concept of temperament is of significant importance not only to the field of human psychology but also to the holistic nature of human relations. Thus who you are encompasses; your temperaments-talents, strengths, weaknesses, personality, background, emotions etc. I

Mother

The Herald🔊 She bored the most challenging moments during her nine months of pregnancy; the mood swings, hunger, fatigue, fears etc. On the labour table, she screamed with much agony and wailing... When she finally delivered, she watched her baby and smiled. Since then she has been strongly bonded to her child; in sickness, hardships, social demands(clothes, education, healthcare) among others. The responsibility of nurturing a good child to become useful  became her daily contemplation and hope. At dawn, I hear her prayers, travailing and groaning on behalf of her children. When things are not going well, she always has that calm, cooling and soothing smile 'my child don't worry'... She's a genius... I will forever celebrate mothers and all women for their mental fortitude and also for their ability to stand up to their divine mandate. For their tremendous contributions to societal continuity and discipline. Happy mother's day... Imagine our world without

The Dimensions of Personal Development....

The Herald🔊 Before you can be successful, you have to be able to bridge the gap between Who you pretend to be and Who you really are. This is a hidden truth of the confusion that most times besets those who have difficultly in identifying their true self. The root of success is anchored in the fertile soil of SELF; it is the fundamental pivot that determines how successful an individual can be. Success is often the most frequently used word by a lot of human spheres because; 1. It serves as a motivation for pursuing goals, ambitions, dreams etc 2. Because it serves as a standard of measurement for how fruitful, beneficial or productive an intended pursuit has yielded. In other sense, it is the measure of goals outcome. We become so conscious of the word so much that its rudiments are exaggerated. Success is directly proportional to the efficacy of one's true self. It is first set in motion by a conscious effort to unravel one's true self; talents, weakness,strengths- tempe
