A girl's menstruation saves her from rituals .

Esther Ankomah, the mother of a 15-year old girl has revealed how her daughter’s menstruation saved her from being kidnapped for ritual purposes in the Wassa Amenfi East District of the Western Region.
Narrating her daughter’s ordeal, Esther said that her daughter after being kidnapped by unknown assailants was taken to an unknown place and in the process of undressing her for the said rituals, the fetish priest discovered she was menstruating and ordered her unfit for the for the ritual.
Esther added that the assailants then  left her daughter who had been kidnapped on last Monday, May 9, at around 1700 hours when she was attending choir meeting back home blind-folded at a nearby school  in the vicinity.
ASP Isaac Kumnipa, the District Police Commander, corroborated the story and disclosed that the victim was reported missing but found the next day, May 10.
ASP Kumnipa, however, advised Ghanaians to be vigilant, especially when approached by strangers for assistance since they cannot easily verify their intentions.

Unemployed nurses petition President Mahama

The aggrieved unemployed nurses on Wednesday, April 27, embarked on another demonstration to register their misgivings over delays in their postings. The nurses and midwives at the Kwame Nkrumah circle in Accra The graduate nurses and midwives took to the street because the Health Ministry has failed to get them posted. The nurses and midwives have been home for the past 10 months Clad in their uniforms and red bands, the nurses converged on the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra; where they carried placards with inscriptions like – “A hungry nurse is a potential killer, We are tired of staying home, We need our financial clearance now; no more delays, Evidence based nurses and midwives demonstration”. Government committed to making Ghana safe - Ambrose Dery

Minister of the Interior, Ambrose Dery, has assured Ghanaians that government is committed to making the country safe for the citizens.
