Aspiring MP sprays the streets of Bolgatanga with money

As the nationwide submissions of presidential and parliamentary candidature forms were ongoing, some very excitable aspirants expressed their excitement and joy in some very impressive ways with their supporters. That is what can be said about the PNC's parliamentary candidate for Bolgatanga, Thomas Akurugu.
After the submitting his forms at the Bolgatanga EC office, the parliamentary aspirant went out to the cheers of his supporters, stood up within the sun-roof of pickup and started spraying his supporters with Ghana cedi bills.
The 44-year-old chartered accountant before his extravagant display had been carried by a web of supporters into the EC office to submit his forms. On his return, he stood in his car and started to shower his supporters and bystanders with fresh 1 cedi notes. It sparked a frenzy among the crowd as the people around rushed toward the vehicle in efforts to grab as many notes as they can. The MP aspirant also wheeled through the streets distributing more wads of cash to traders and pedestrians along the streets.
"They’ve taken you for granted. Tell them this time that the power is here (in the voters’ hands). Think positively before you vote. Don’t vote because Thomas is PNC, NPP or NDC. Vote because Thomas is your son, your father, somebody who takes your problem up there (pointing in the direction to Parliament) and brings them back, " he said as he drove along the streets shouting to his followers, who also responded back with the party slogan "Too sure! Too direct. "
