Parliament dismisses impeachment motion against Mahama

Speaker of parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, has dismissed the motion filed by the minority which seeks to impeach President Mahama over the Ford Expedition gift saga.
The speaker in his statement charged the minority members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rather pursue the case at the commission for human rights and administrative justice, (CHRAJ) adding that he is “unable to admit this motion”.
The dismissed motion by minority members in parliament seeks to find answers to:
A). Whether the President of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama received a Ford Expedition Vehicle from a Burkinabe Contractor.
B). Whether the Ford Expedition Vehicle received by the President infringes any law of Ghana.

D). Any other matter relevant to the above subject.
President Mahama has revealed to CHRAJ that he is innocent over the Ford Expedition gift saga
President Mahama had earlier admitted receiving the Ford vehicle gift from a Burkinabe contractor, Djibril Kanazoe which was worth $100,000 – a development which has seen CHRAJ open an official investigation.
