KMA elections end in blows again

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) meeting to elect a Presiding Member Tuesday ended in a deadlock again when a fight broke between some members.
According to reports, an assembly member, Abdullah Muaza traded blows with NDC serial caller during proceedings, leading to a deadlock.
This is the second time the KMA elections has ended in stalemate. The Assembly members had on several occasions failed to elect a presiding member to chair meetings of the assembly which is affecting development in the metropolis.
A Joy News report said a timely intervention by some assembly members prevented the scuffle from turning bloody.
The KMA has 147 members, 91 of them elected, 44 appointed and 10 ex-officio members, who are Members of Parliament (MPs).
