EC gives 2,276 prisoners chance to vote come December polls

Close to 2,276 prisoners across the country will be eligible to vote ahead of the December elections.This follows a registration process by the electoral commission (EC).
According to the EC, an estimate of 40,433 new eligible voters has so far been captured onto the electoral roll during the continuous voter registration exercise.

Sources close to ghelections.com say these figures were disclosed at an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting where a number of issues relating to the December 7 elections were discussed.
Meanwhile, the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has spoken against EC's decision to register prisoners without the knowledge of political parties - a decision acting chairman describes as undemocratic.
