Chief Justice sets up special taskforce ahead of Nov 7 elections

Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood has put up a task force to strengthen the capacities of judges on electoral laws ahead of the general elections on November 7.
The taskforce is said to have the director of the judiciary training institute and Justice of the Court of Appeal Professor Justice Dennis Adjei as one of the facilitators as Supreme Court Judges; Justice Ben Dotse and Justice Baffoe Boney will also be part of this taskforce.
The training of the members which is expected to take not less than a month is part of measures to ensure a peaceful and fair general election ahead of the much anticipated general elections.

Government committed to making Ghana safe - Ambrose Dery

Minister of the Interior, Ambrose Dery, has assured Ghanaians that government is committed to making the country safe for the citizens. His declaration follows the current attacks on national security personnel by criminals with the recent one resulting in the killing of Inspector Emmanuel Ashilevi who was shot at the Kwabenya Police Station when gunmen invaded the station to free seven suspects. The aggrieved unemployed nurses on Wednesday, April 27, embarked on another demonstration to register their misgivings over delays in their postings. The nurses and midwives at the Kwame Nkrumah circle in Accra The graduate nurses and midwives took to the street because the Health Ministry has failed to get them posted.
