Ghanaians to pay ghc 5 to replace their lost voters ID

The Electoral Commission says Ghanaians who have misplaced their voter identification cards will pay GHC 5 for it to be replaced.
The Electoral Commission’s Limited Voter Registration began in various polling stations across the country.
According to Samuel Tetteh, director of elections at the EC the commission is mandated by law [Constitutional Instrument CI 91, Regulation 15, Sub regulation 2] to charge a fee for the replacement of a voter ID.
In an interview with TV3, Tetteh said the decision was arrived at considering the alarming rate at which people request for their missing voter ID cards to be replaced.
The EC in a press release noted that the mode of payment will be through the GCB account number 1161130000275.
The account name is EC Fee for Service and the branch is Boundary Road, Accra.
