Manchester City v PSG: Champions League 2nd leg preview @ mognewsportal.

Manchester City may still have been selling tickets at The Etihad for their Champions League quarter-final second leg against PSG on Monday, but it is undoubtedly a momentous game for both sides.
Bankrolled with huge amounts of cash in recent seasons, both Manchester City and PSG have never reached the Champions League semi-finals before.
And, despite the quality of the first leg, which was littered by some shocking defensive errors and a missed penalty, both sides would fancy their chances with just three games remaining thanks to their undoubted high class firepower.
Manchester City undoubtedly came out of the first leg in better shape, with two away goals, which leaves them in pole position.
PSG also lost two key players to suspension in David Luiz and Blaise Matuidi. The former may be a joke figure in England and Marquinhos is a fine replacement. But, the latter is one of the finest box-to-box midfielders in the world and will for sure be missed.
The big question for PSG is whether Marco Verratti will be fit. The Italian midfielder, who has been so impressive for the Parisians has been out since February.
Verratti has travelled to Manchester with the PSG squad but Laurent Blanc admitted it would still take a “miracle” for the playmaker to be involved in the game at all.
Manuel Pellegrini’s big dilemma concerns fit again Yaya Toure. Such a key player for Manchester City in recent seasons, the Ivorian midfielder can be a liability in a midfield two.
Despite Fernando’s error in Paris for the opening goal, City play better in Europe with two holding players in the middle of the park and the most likely scenario will see Toure start in the three behind Sergio Aguero.
Pellegrini will surely go for a defensive midfield pivot and will be forced to move Kevin De Bruyne out wide to ensure Toure can do damage behind Sergio Aguero.
A fascinating second leg awaits. Ahead of this tie PSG were firm favourites. Now it is very much 50/50 and if City can keep things tight at the back, you suspect they will do damage going forward.
It will nervy in the latter stages but a huge carrot awaits for both sides… As a result, it might take a moment of magic, from say Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Sergio Aguero, to decide a very watchable tie.
