Rawlings donates to save life

Former president Jerry John Rawlings, has donated GHC5,000 to the 16-year-old boy, Andy Dodoo, who was bathed in acid by a tenant of his dad.
Andy and his 71-year-old dad at the hospital
The money will help cushion the cost of medical bills accrued at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra for his treatment, according to a report by myjoyonline.com.
Andy sustained severe acid burns when he tried to stop his father’s tenant from pouring a corrosive substance on him, following a misunderstanding.
Andy, in his quest to prevent the tenant from causing harm to his dad, suffered a life-threatening acid injury.
Three others also suffered other forms of injuries after the suspect poured the corrosive substance on them.
Although the three have been treated and discharged, Andy and his father are still on admission at the hospital due to the severity of their injuries, the report said.
